# Fahrenheit Thermometer Plus vs Mercury

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Mercury at 100% against Fahrenheit Thermometer Plus's 33%. Mercury also leads on ads (none vs shown). Fahrenheit Thermometer Plus's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and update cadence (every 10 months vs every 70 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mercury sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Fahrenheit Thermometer Plus asks for nothing beyond the download.

Fahrenheit Thermometer Plus holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fahrenheit Thermometer Plus has 269 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Fahrenheit Thermometer Plus's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mercury's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fahrenheit Thermometer Plus ships an update every 10 months, Mercury every 70 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
