# iEditor vs LaTeX Editor Tex Pro

The clearest difference is rating: LaTeX Editor Tex Pro at 4.8 against iEditor's 4.1. LaTeX Editor Tex Pro also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 7 months). iEditor's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LaTeX Editor Tex Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. iEditor asks for nothing beyond the download.

LaTeX Editor Tex Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LaTeX Editor Tex Pro has 1.6K ratings behind it against 189, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of iEditor's written reviews are positive against 50% of LaTeX Editor Tex Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iEditor ships an update every 7 months, LaTeX Editor Tex Pro every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
