# Yomu EBook Reader vs Book Reader

The clearest difference is rating: Yomu EBook Reader at 4.8 against Book Reader's 2.8. Yomu EBook Reader also leads on ratings volume (1.6K vs 17). Book Reader's advantage is review sentiment (89% vs 80%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Yomu EBook Reader sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Book Reader sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Yomu EBook Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yomu EBook Reader has 1.6K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Yomu EBook Reader's written reviews are positive against 89% of Book Reader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
