# Yomu EBook Reader vs Tome Player

The clearest difference is rating: Yomu EBook Reader at 4.8 against Tome Player's 3.7. Yomu EBook Reader also leads on ratings volume (1.6K vs 3) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). Tome Player's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (100% vs 80%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Yomu EBook Reader sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Tome Player asks for nothing beyond the download.

Yomu EBook Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yomu EBook Reader has 1.6K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Yomu EBook Reader's written reviews are positive against 100% of Tome Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Yomu EBook Reader ships an update monthly, Tome Player every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
