# Time Calculator vs Stella

The clearest difference is update cadence: Stella at every 3 weeks against Time Calculator's every 11 months. Stella also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 50%). Time Calculator's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Time Calculator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Stella sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Time Calculator holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 113 and 27 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Time Calculator's written reviews are positive against 77% of Stella's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Time Calculator ships an update every 11 months, Stella every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
