# ScratchMaker vs Kitaba

The clearest difference is ads: ScratchMaker at none against Kitaba's shown. ScratchMaker also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 84%) and iOS requirement (11.2 vs 15.6). Kitaba's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 27 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ScratchMaker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Kitaba sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScratchMaker ships an update every 27 months, Kitaba fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
