# Publix vs Dawgy

Publix and Dawgy both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Dawgy's written reviews are positive against 70% of Publix's. Dawgy also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). Publix's advantage is ratings volume (557K vs 3) and chart position (#84 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Publix against 5.0 for Dawgy. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Publix has 557K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 70% of Publix's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dawgy's.

Publix ships an update monthly, Dawgy weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
