# MemoFolder vs Notepad

The clearest difference is rating: MemoFolder at 5.0 against Notepad's 4.5. Notepad's advantage is ratings volume (43K vs 1) and update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MemoFolder holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notepad has 43K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 74% of MemoFolder's written reviews are positive against 71% of Notepad's.

MemoFolder ships an update every 4 months, Notepad monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
