# CloudClip vs Octoclip

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: CloudClip at none against Octoclip's 1. CloudClip also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (45 vs 13). Octoclip's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 84%). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Octoclip sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. CloudClip asks for nothing beyond the download.

CloudClip holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 45 and 13 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of CloudClip's written reviews are positive against 100% of Octoclip's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CloudClip ships an update every 6 months, Octoclip fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
