# MarineTraffic vs FlexNow

The clearest difference is review sentiment: FlexNow at 100% against MarineTraffic's 50%. FlexNow also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 14) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). MarineTraffic's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (65K vs 16). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MarineTraffic sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. FlexNow asks for nothing beyond the download.

FlexNow holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MarineTraffic has 65K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of MarineTraffic's written reviews are positive against 100% of FlexNow's.

MarineTraffic ships an update every 10 days, FlexNow every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
