# Group SMS Personalized texting vs Fext

The clearest difference is rating: Fext at 4.0 against Group SMS Personalized texting's 2.8. Fext also leads on ratings volume (551 vs 4) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). Group SMS Personalized texting's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Group SMS Personalized texting sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Fext sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fext holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fext has 551 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Group SMS Personalized texting's written reviews are positive against 24% of Fext's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Group SMS Personalized texting ships an update fortnightly, Fext every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
