# Digital Manufacturing vs AA Grapevine

The clearest difference is rating: Digital Manufacturing at 5.0 against AA Grapevine's 4.1. Digital Manufacturing also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). AA Grapevine's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Digital Manufacturing sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and AA Grapevine sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Digital Manufacturing holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AA Grapevine has 84 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Digital Manufacturing ships an update every 4 months, AA Grapevine every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
