# Electronics For You vs Tech Xplore

The clearest difference is rating: Tech Xplore at 4.2 against Electronics For You's 3.4. Tech Xplore also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Electronics For You's advantage is review sentiment (33% vs 0%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Electronics For You sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Tech Xplore sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tech Xplore holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Electronics For You's written reviews are positive against 0% of Tech Xplore's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Electronics For You ships an update every 3 months, Tech Xplore every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
