Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Minn Kota Fishing at 5.0 against Link's 2.2. Minn Kota Fishing also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 4 months) and chart position (#69 vs unranked). Link's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (148 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Minn Kota Fishing holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Link has 148 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Link's written reviews are positive against 18% of Minn Kota Fishing's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Link ships an update every 4 months, Minn Kota Fishing every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
