# Marlee Signs vs ASL Study

The clearest difference is ads: Marlee Signs at none against ASL Study's shown. Marlee Signs also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.6). ASL Study's advantage is rating (3.7 vs 3.3) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Marlee Signs sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and ASL Study sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ASL Study holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 190 and 211 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Marlee Signs's written reviews are positive against 43% of ASL Study's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Marlee Signs ships an update every 2 months, ASL Study fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
