# EE vs Onbox

EE and Onbox both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 56% of Onbox's written reviews are positive against 10% of EE's. Onbox also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). EE's advantage is ratings volume (2.1K vs 29) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for EE against 4.6 for Onbox. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EE has 2.1K ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 10% of EE's written reviews are positive against 56% of Onbox's.

EE ships an update fortnightly, Onbox every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
