# Fatsoma vs NOW Pass

Fatsoma and NOW Pass both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of NOW Pass's written reviews are positive against 42% of Fatsoma's. NOW Pass also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). Fatsoma's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (874 vs 40). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Fatsoma against 4.7 for NOW Pass. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fatsoma has 874 ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 42% of Fatsoma's written reviews are positive against 100% of NOW Pass's.

Fatsoma ships an update monthly, NOW Pass fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
