# Clef Cards vs Clefable

The clearest difference is ads: Clef Cards at none against Clefable's shown. Clef Cards also leads on update cadence (every 6 months vs every 23 months) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.5). Clefable's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (104 vs 10). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Clef Cards sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Clefable sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Clefable holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Clefable has 104 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 88% of Clef Cards's written reviews are positive against 89% of Clefable's.

Clef Cards ships an update every 6 months, Clefable every 23 months. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
