# EWTN vs Magdalene Prayers

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Magdalene Prayers at none against EWTN's 10. Magdalene Prayers also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 91%). EWTN's advantage is ratings volume (41K vs 5) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 4 months). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EWTN sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Magdalene Prayers asks for nothing beyond the download.

EWTN holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EWTN has 41K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 91% of EWTN's written reviews are positive against 100% of Magdalene Prayers's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EWTN ships an update every 4 weeks, Magdalene Prayers every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
