# EWTN vs Avila Catholic

The clearest difference is ads: Avila Catholic at none against EWTN's shown. Avila Catholic also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 weeks). EWTN's advantage is ratings volume (41K vs 9) and device support (5 vs 2). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EWTN sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Avila Catholic sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for EWTN against 5.0 for Avila Catholic. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EWTN has 41K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

EWTN ships an update every 4 weeks, Avila Catholic every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
