# 圣经 vs 微信读书

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: 圣经 at none against 微信读书's 17. 圣经 also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 79%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). 微信读书's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 8 months). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 微信读书 sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. 圣经 asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for 圣经 against 4.8 for 微信读书. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 微信读书 has 28K ratings behind it against 45, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of 圣经's written reviews are positive against 79% of 微信读书's.

圣经 ships an update every 8 months, 微信读书 every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
