# Duolingo vs Korean Pro

The clearest difference is price: Duolingo at Free against Korean Pro's $4.99. Duolingo also leads on ratings volume (5.6M vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). Korean Pro's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 28) and ads (none vs shown). On review sentiment there is nothing between them.

Duolingo is free to download; Korean Pro costs $4.99 up front. Duolingo sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Korean Pro asks for nothing beyond the download.

Korean Pro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Duolingo has 5.6M ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Duolingo's written reviews are positive against 57% of Korean Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Duolingo ships an update every 5 days, Korean Pro every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
