# Duolingo vs In 24 Hours Learn Languages

The clearest difference is ads: In 24 Hours Learn Languages at none against Duolingo's shown. In 24 Hours Learn Languages also leads on review sentiment (89% vs 65%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 17.0). Duolingo's advantage is ratings volume (5.6M vs 183) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Duolingo sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and In 24 Hours Learn Languages sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Duolingo holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Duolingo has 5.6M ratings behind it against 183, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Duolingo's written reviews are positive against 89% of In 24 Hours Learn Languages's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Duolingo ships an update every 5 days, In 24 Hours Learn Languages fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
