# Blocks Game vs Word Match

The clearest difference is rating: Word Match at 4.8 against Blocks Game's 4.2. Word Match also leads on ratings volume (4.9K vs 40) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). Blocks Game's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 66%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Blocks Game sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Word Match sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Match holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Match has 4.9K ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Blocks Game's written reviews are positive against 66% of Word Match's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Blocks Game ships an update every 3 months, Word Match monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
