# Lunds and Byerlys vs Breadsmith

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Breadsmith at 47% against Lunds and Byerlys's 23%. Breadsmith also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Lunds and Byerlys's advantage is ratings volume (1.8K vs 94) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Lunds and Byerlys holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lunds and Byerlys has 1.8K ratings behind it against 94, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of Lunds and Byerlys's written reviews are positive against 47% of Breadsmith's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lunds and Byerlys ships an update every 3 months, Breadsmith every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
