# Palm Reader vs Palmist

The clearest difference is rating: Palmist at 4.1 against Palm Reader's 2.2. Palmist also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 16 months) and ratings volume (4.5K vs 6). Palm Reader's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (43% vs 28%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Palmist sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Palm Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

Palmist holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Palmist has 4.5K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Palm Reader's written reviews are positive against 28% of Palmist's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Palm Reader ships an update every 16 months, Palmist weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
