# Malala vs SSCAL

The clearest difference is update cadence: SSCAL at every 4 months against Malala's every 20 months. SSCAL also leads on ratings volume (31 vs 1) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Malala against 5.0 for SSCAL. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SSCAL has 31 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Malala ships an update every 20 months, SSCAL every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
