# BARK vs Dee

BARK and Dee both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Dee's written reviews are positive against 69% of BARK's. Dee also leads on iOS requirement (13.4 vs 16.0). BARK's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 49 months) and ratings volume (30K vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for BARK against 5.0 for Dee. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BARK has 30K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 69% of BARK's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dee's.

BARK ships an update every 2 weeks, Dee every 49 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
