# Eminent DVR vs connect

The clearest difference is update cadence: connect at every 3 weeks against Eminent DVR's every 33 months. Eminent DVR's advantage is iOS requirement (7.0 vs 10.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Eminent DVR ships an update every 33 months, connect every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
