# FlightStats vs AirNav Radar

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: FlightStats at none against AirNav Radar's 12. FlightStats also leads on review sentiment (73% vs 50%) and ratings volume (79K vs 1.3K). AirNav Radar's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and chart position (#80 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AirNav Radar sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. FlightStats asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for FlightStats against 4.7 for AirNav Radar. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlightStats has 79K ratings behind it against 1.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 73% of FlightStats's written reviews are positive against 50% of AirNav Radar's.

FlightStats ships an update every 2 months, AirNav Radar every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
