# FlightStats vs Falcon Scanner

The clearest difference is ads: Falcon Scanner at none against FlightStats's shown. Falcon Scanner also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). FlightStats's advantage is ratings volume (79K vs 6) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Falcon Scanner holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlightStats has 79K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

FlightStats ships an update every 2 months, Falcon Scanner every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
