# Simple Notes vs Doo

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Simple Notes at 82% against Doo's 55%. Simple Notes also leads on price ($2.99 vs $4.99) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). Doo's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On ratings volume, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Simple Notes costs $2.99 and Doo $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Doo holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 39 and 39 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Simple Notes's written reviews are positive against 55% of Doo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Simple Notes ships an update every 2 months, Doo every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
