# TopWords vs Word Master Stack

The clearest difference is rating: Word Master Stack at 4.7 against TopWords's 3.0. Word Master Stack also leads on update cadence (every 4 months vs every 48 months) and ratings volume (166 vs 1). TopWords's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TopWords sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Word Master Stack sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Master Stack holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Master Stack has 166 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of TopWords's written reviews are positive against 71% of Word Master Stack's.

TopWords ships an update every 48 months, Word Master Stack every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
