# WFTV Weather vs Groundwork

The clearest difference is ads: Groundwork at none against WFTV Weather's shown. Groundwork also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). WFTV Weather's advantage is ratings volume (15K vs 1) and chart position (#207 vs unranked). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Groundwork holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WFTV Weather has 15K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

WFTV Weather ships an update every 3 months, Groundwork every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
