# Pou vs Bug Smasher HD

The clearest difference is price: Bug Smasher HD at Free against Pou's $1.99. Bug Smasher HD also leads on review sentiment (85% vs 68%). Pou's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 8 months). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Bug Smasher HD is free to download; Pou costs $1.99 up front. Pou sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Bug Smasher HD sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pou holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3.9K and 788 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Pou's written reviews are positive against 85% of Bug Smasher HD's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pou ships an update every 3 months, Bug Smasher HD every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
