# Math Animations Pro vs Mencal

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Math Animations Pro at none against Mencal's 5. Math Animations Pro also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Mencal's advantage is ratings volume (26 vs 5) and review sentiment (87% vs 78%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Math Animations Pro costs $0.99 and Mencal $0.99 up front. Mencal sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Math Animations Pro asks for nothing beyond the download.

Math Animations Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mencal has 26 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Math Animations Pro's written reviews are positive against 87% of Mencal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Math Animations Pro ships an update every 3 months, Mencal every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
