# iSecret Message vs Text Vault

The clearest difference is rating: Text Vault at 4.4 against iSecret Message's 3.0. Text Vault also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 25 months) and ratings volume (23K vs 2). iSecret Message's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iSecret Message sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Text Vault sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Text Vault holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Vault has 23K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

iSecret Message ships an update every 25 months, Text Vault every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
