# iSecret Message vs Private Message Box

The clearest difference is ads: iSecret Message at none against Private Message Box's shown. iSecret Message also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). Private Message Box's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 25 months) and ratings volume (23 vs 2). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iSecret Message sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Private Message Box sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.0 for iSecret Message against 3.1 for Private Message Box. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Private Message Box has 23 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

iSecret Message ships an update every 25 months, Private Message Box monthly. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
