# 有道翻译官 vs 拍照取字

The clearest difference is ads: 拍照取字 at none against 有道翻译官's shown. 拍照取字 also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). 有道翻译官's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 5) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 有道翻译官 sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and 拍照取字 sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

有道翻译官 holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 有道翻译官 has 1.7K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of 有道翻译官's written reviews are positive against 100% of 拍照取字's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

有道翻译官 ships an update fortnightly, 拍照取字 weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
