# Lumosity vs memoryOS

The clearest difference is ads: memoryOS at none against Lumosity's shown. Lumosity's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks) and ratings volume (131K vs 17K). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lumosity sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month and memoryOS sells 23 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

memoryOS holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lumosity has 131K ratings behind it against 17K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 79% and 80% positive.

Lumosity ships an update weekly, memoryOS every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
