# Quintet vs The Pyraplex

The clearest difference is price: Quintet at Free against The Pyraplex's $4.99. Quintet also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 6 months) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 12.0). The Pyraplex's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.9). On review sentiment, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Quintet is free to download; The Pyraplex costs $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Pyraplex holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 20 and 17 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of Quintet's written reviews are positive against 72% of The Pyraplex's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Quintet ships an update every 5 weeks, The Pyraplex every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
