# Yahoo Mail vs Mail Notes

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Mail Notes at 75% against Yahoo Mail's 33%. Mail Notes also leads on ads (none vs shown). Yahoo Mail's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Yahoo Mail sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Mail Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Yahoo Mail holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yahoo Mail has 4.9M ratings behind it against 106, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Yahoo Mail's written reviews are positive against 75% of Mail Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Yahoo Mail ships an update every 5 days, Mail Notes every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
