# Steve Madden vs MD509 & D

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MD509 & D at 100% against Steve Madden's 38%. MD509 & D also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Steve Madden's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (39K vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Steve Madden holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Steve Madden has 39K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Steve Madden's written reviews are positive against 100% of MD509 & D's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Steve Madden ships an update monthly, MD509 & D every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
