# Terrain Navigator Pro vs SW Maps

The clearest difference is rating: SW Maps at 3.8 against Terrain Navigator Pro's 2.7. Terrain Navigator Pro's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 30%) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SW Maps holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 2.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 20 and 25 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Terrain Navigator Pro's written reviews are positive against 30% of SW Maps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
