# KCTCS vs Hex Base Converter

The clearest difference is update cadence: KCTCS at every 6 weeks against Hex Base Converter's every 7 months. KCTCS also leads on ratings volume (3.2K vs 33). Hex Base Converter's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 89%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

KCTCS holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KCTCS has 3.2K ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of KCTCS's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hex Base Converter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

KCTCS ships an update every 6 weeks, Hex Base Converter every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
