# KCTCS vs Blackboard

KCTCS and Blackboard both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 89% of KCTCS's written reviews are positive against 14% of Blackboard's. Blackboard's advantage is ratings volume (443K vs 3.2K) and chart position (#127 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

KCTCS holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blackboard has 443K ratings behind it against 3.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 89% of KCTCS's written reviews are positive against 14% of Blackboard's.

KCTCS ships an update every 6 weeks, Blackboard monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
