# Synthesia vs Piano ٞ

The clearest difference is rating: Piano ٞ at 4.6 against Synthesia's 3.9. Piano ٞ also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (172K vs 3.6K). Synthesia's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 16.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Synthesia sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Piano ٞ sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Piano ٞ holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Piano ٞ has 172K ratings behind it against 3.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Synthesia's written reviews are positive against 60% of Piano ٞ's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Synthesia ships an update every 4 months, Piano ٞ every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
