# SP Multitrack Songwriting vs JamFactory

The clearest difference is rating: JamFactory at 5.0 against SP Multitrack Songwriting's 4.4. SP Multitrack Songwriting's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (33% vs 0%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SP Multitrack Songwriting sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and JamFactory sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

JamFactory holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SP Multitrack Songwriting has 90 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of SP Multitrack Songwriting's written reviews are positive against 0% of JamFactory's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SP Multitrack Songwriting ships an update every 3 months, JamFactory every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
