# Perez Hilton Official Basic vs BBC America

The clearest difference is rating: BBC America at 1.9 against Perez Hilton Official Basic's 1.3. BBC America also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (589 vs 51). Perez Hilton Official Basic's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BBC America holds the better App Store score, 1.9 against 1.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BBC America has 589 ratings behind it against 51, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of Perez Hilton Official Basic's written reviews are positive against 5% of BBC America's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Perez Hilton Official Basic ships an update every 4 months, BBC America monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
