# Sierra Nevada vs ForusApp

The clearest difference is ads: ForusApp at none against Sierra Nevada's shown. ForusApp also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Sierra Nevada's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 53%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ForusApp holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ForusApp has 164 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Sierra Nevada's written reviews are positive against 53% of ForusApp's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
